Strategy Changed a Bit.

Just after I wrote the last post, I moved the albino female that was in the 12 gallon tank with the male into the 10 gallon tank with the other female. I had plans of keeping her in the holding cell for 24 hours until her fins healed a bit and then letting her out at nighttime so the other female that was already in there wouldn't go all territorial on her ass.

I turned out the lights and went to bed that night, came down the next morning and the holding cell was empty. Both females were busily swimming around content as could be.

Oddly, for three or four days Mr. White didn't eat. Is it possible for fish to be depressed? Because if it is, I think Mr. White was depressed because he lost his punching bag (i.e, the white female). Then, because he wasn't eating his food, it built up in the crevices of his tank and the stupid little white worms showed up. So I had to do a tank cleaning.

I moved out a lot of his rocks and plants, now he just has two big rocks. That lightened his mood and he's been moving the bottom rocks non-stop since then AND eating. He's feeling much better. The two females in the 10 gallon tank are happy and doing great. All the females in the 36 gallon tank are happy and doing great. I haven't seen much of the algae eater fish over there, so I assume he's happy and doing great, too.

Isn't that great and doesn't that make YOU happy? Because it sure as hell makes ME happy!
